Dave The Boy Who Played the Harp Album Lyrics

The Boy Who Played the Harp is the third studio album by British rapper Dave, released on 24 October 2025 through Neighbourhood Recordings.

The album The Boy Who Played the Harp features guest appearances from Kano, James Blake, Jim Legxacy, and Tems.

The album’s title alludes to the Book of Samuel in the Bible (1 Samuel 16:14–23), where Saul summoned a young, brave shepherd, David, to play the harp to soothe him as he was being troubled by evil spirits.

In this light, Dave positions himself as a modern David—an artist whose music brings healing, comfort, and relief from inner and outer struggles.

At the same time, the title hints at David’s eventual rise to kingship. By focusing on grounding himself in humility, emphasizing the origins of his journey and the power of his artistry over the pursuit of status or crowns.

To support the album, Dave is scheduled to embark on a European arena tour in support of the album from February-March 2025.

The album serves as a follow-up to We’re All Alone in This Together (2021), his second studio album, and Split Decision (2023), Dave’s collaborative EP with Central Cee.
